Start at the Maasai Market, where you can buy authentic arts and crafts directly from local artisans to capture memories of your Tanzanian adventure. Keep in mind that while the market is open all week, some shops may close on Sundays.

Next, don't miss the Tanzanite shop and museum, where a guided tour offers insight into this unique gem, found only in Tanzania near Mount Kilimanjaro. You'll learn about its unique properties and mining process. After that, we will take you to the local design concept shop where the most talented Tanzanian designers create handcrafted home decor from the high-quality locally-sourced materials. Here you can get inspiration for the interior of your own living space, buy textiles, tableware and other interior accessories.

Pause for a delicious lunch on the shaded terrace at Arusha Coffee Lodge. While there, check out Shanga, a workshop that creates all kinds of new stuff from recycled materials and supports people with disabilities — perfect for unique souvenirs and jewelry.

The tour wraps up at the Cultural Heritage Center. Besides a vast array of things to purchase, here you will find an art gallery displaying art and artifacts.
